Jazz Standards Vol.102 Arturo Sandoval

Arturo Sandoval nasceu em Cuba em 1949. Começou na sua terra natal nos anos 70 e o seu primeiro grande salto ocorreu em 1977, quando conheceu e tocou com Dizzy Gillespie. Embora autorizado a sair de Cuba uma vez por outra para tocar no estrangeiro, só em 1990 conseguiu deixar definitivamente Cuba levando consigo a família. Sandoval radicou-se na Florida e tem vindo a gravar com alguma regularidade. Aqui toca standards em duas sessões, com uma big band e com um quinteto.
