Jazz Standards Vol.88 Sonny Stitt

Sonny Stitt (1924-1982) nasceu em Boston e dedicou-se primariamente ao saxofone alto. Influenciado por Charlie Parker e Lester Young, influenciou por sua vez coltrane. Passou depois a privilegiar Tocou com os melhores, incluíndo Bud Powell, Dizzy Gillespie, J. J. Johnson e Miles Davis. Gravou numerosas sessões como líder e veio a falecer de ataque cardíaco com apenas 58 anos. Aqui toca standards em três sessões bem separadas no tempo.
