Jazz Standards Vol. 42 Lester Young

Lester Young (1909-1959) foi um dos mais importantes saxofonistas tenores da história do jazz. Ficou conhecido pela alcunha de Pres e foi considerado um inovador. Começou a ser conhecido quando tocou com King Oliver e mais tarde com Count Basie. O seu acompanhamento para a voz de Billie Holiday constitui um marco. A sua morte prematura acelerada pelo consumo de álcool reduziu a sua produção. Aqui apresenta-se a sua gravação de standards durante uma década.
